A Success Story from Our PEERS® Program

At Social Skills Australia we know that learning social skills can change lives. Over the past few months, we've seen many young people grow and become more confident. Today, we want to share a success story that shows the impact of our program.

One of our participants came to us feeling very anxious. he had been homeschooled for the past two years and found it hard to interact with others. In the beginning, he was nervous and unsure about joining the sessions.

Despite his fears, he was determined to improve. Each session, he learned new strategies and practiced them. Our program teaches practical skills for social interactions, and he worked hard to apply them.

Halfway through the program, we saw a big change. he started to feel more comfortable and confident. he participated more in group activities and role-playing exercises. His confidence grew, and he decided he was ready to return to school.

Going back to school was a huge step for him. With the skills he learned, he made new friends and began enjoying school again. The anxiety that once held him back was replaced by excitement and a sense of belonging

He recently shared a heartfelt message with us:

"Thank you so much for teaching me social skills. I finally feel brave enough to have friends and I can’t thank you enough."

His journey from anxiety to confidence shows how effective our program can be.
