About Social Skills Australia
We are a specialised online organisation dedicated to developing social competency and anxiety management skills for teens and adults. Our expertise lies in facilitating peer social skills groups for individuals with autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions using the world-renowned evidence-based PEERS® social skills programs developed at the University of California.
Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Coach to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience working with neurodivergent teens and adults, particularly those on the autism spectrum. Your background should include expertise in social skills training, education, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or behavioral intervention. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline is required.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate online peer groups focused on social skill development and anxiety management strategies
Work autonomously while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and client confidentiality
Demonstrate adaptability in addressing diverse participant needs
Conduct initial consultations and provide individualised coaching as required
Apply effective problem-solving approaches to overcome challenges, including technical issues
Qualifications and Skills
Demonstrated experience working with neurodivergent populations, particularly individuals with autism
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field
UCLA PEERS® certification for adolescents, young adults, or both (or willingness to complete certification)
Proficiency with remote work technologies including Zoom and Google Workspace
Self-motivated with strong time management and independent work skills
Collaborative mindset with an adaptable, solutions-oriented approach
Exceptional organisational abilities and attention to detail
Access to reliable technology and internet connectivity
Ability to provide a comprehensive resume and two professional recommendations
