ADHD Awareness Month: Understanding a Shared Experience
ADHD Awareness Month, celebrated annually throughout October, is a dedicated effort to raise awareness about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and educate the public on this neurodiverse condition.
This important event seeks to eliminate harmful stereotypes, misinformation, and misconceptions about ADHD, instead providing accurate, evidence-based information to increase understanding and support.
Although the event originated in the United States, it has gained international recognition, including in the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia, where schools and organisations have taken the opportunity to educate their societies about ADHD.
Each year, ADHD Awareness Month selects a specific topic to delve into, and for 2023, the chosen theme is "ADHD: Understanding a Shared Experience." This theme encourages people to explore and appreciate the commonalities in the experiences of those with ADHD.
